 There are some bots in IM I've noticed.

 Very true it's much different from 2005. But I'd think with the advances in technology there would be something to counter all the spam and bots. And maybe there is, but like all businesses, they look at is the investment worth the payback.

 Total member numbers - they tout that. Bots, people abandoning profiles just to make new ones... Members with a dozen or more profiles - straight in some, bi-sexual in others - married here, divorced or separated there - different ages - the list go on. Covering all the bases they think they can... The website doesn't mind the extra member numbers, it helps them look better.

 So is gold even worth it? Back in the day they had a silver membership which is what I had. Coming back all these years later I'm really on the fence with a paid membership. Seemed easier back then to chat and meet women. Of course I was younger and single so that may have something else to do with it.
