 I started a Blog seeking info, so far not much help, but I have seen many blogs that get lots of feedback. Bottomline, can't hurt but not a sure thing either.

 As an alternate to live chatting, sure.
An open chat room where there is group conversation about recent events is a great way to see what people think and how they react. Many personality traits are revealed.

Using blogs requires as much, or more effort. Blogs can yield greater results if you can interpret the writer from their writen words. But you need to engage each interesting writer individually. Use the "Quote" link (under photo on left) to respond to their comments. They will be notified when you respond. Then, they can use the Respond link (never works) or post another Comment.

Sometimes, it is best not to post what you like/don't like. Someone with bad intentions, can use that to gain your confidence. Better to ask questions they must respond to. Then, you can evaluate their writing skills, vocabulary, subject matter (what they talk about most) and do they talk to you, with you, at you or about nothing useful.

Where I live (private) and where I want to meet (Las Vegas) and when (when I travel there, not sure exactly).

My idea was, the blog shows interests, likes and dislikes, but not publicly accepting to meet, private messages are for private discussions for meeting, getting to know better.

It is nice to have a community.

Like many say before, it's an alternate form of communication
For me it works, just if the post carries some significance,
or hits a secret cord
Like I said, keep an open mind, and see how it works
