Could Have Been Better Than Good A Poem

A good night
Could have been
So much better
If I had had company
Someone in my
Physical presence.

But alas
It was only messages
Sent from one person
Here and there
With phonecalls
From relatives interspersed.

I was able to write a poem
And I even watched
A few TV programs
But still like I said
It could have been
A better than good
Evening if I had had
Someone to share
The time in my home
Getting some attention
Giving some affection
And then something something
If you get my meaning.
