Quitting smoking

As of November 3, I'm trying again to quit smoking. So far, after 4 days I haven't had a smoke. My biggest temptation was the first day after dinner... I really wanted my traditional after dinner smoke. On day 3 I was talking with a friend who smokes and really liked the smell of her cigarette, but didn't have any huge urge to smoke.

I'm using the patch this time, after using gum in the past, and it's working a lot better. In the past, one time I'd "cheat" and have a smoke was in the mornings when I'd wake up with no nicotine all night. The gum took too long for it to get into my system and a smoke was faster. But by keeping the patch on all night, I never got low on nicotine so I didn't need the quick boost in the morning.

 Way to go Tim! I was going to text you today and see how you were doing!!! It will be a month tomorrow for me! We can sit and talk tomorrow night and NOT smoke...Can we do it??? Of course we can!!! See you tomorrow!

That wasn't a problem talking with you and not smoking... I am glad that I found your nicotine patch in the filter of my hot tub. LOL

 It's been a week without a smoke and so far, so good. That temptation after dinner the first day has been the strongest so far. Smelling someone else smoke and having them blow some smoke in my face doesn't count as cheating, does it? LOL
